1: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department audit, rebrand & communications

Internal Communications Audit: This internal communications audit was commissioned to ensure communications strategy was aligned with business objectives. Findings from the audit helped shape the strategy rebrand and three-year communications plan. Searching for gaps in information, miscommunication, and channels that were not delivering, HGC used the audit to:

Deliverables: Review existing employee communication activities; define objectives, review history and current communications activities, benchmarks, channels, to identify gaps; conduct research across all global divisions utilizing surveys, interviews, and focus groups; write comprehensive report of findings; core purpose, positioning, and definition; brand creation including architecture and naming, strategy, planning, positioning, visual systems, narrative development, and messaging.

2: A new purpose statement, brand and identity, and internal global year-round communications and campaigns for employees

With over 30 years of dedication to environmental and social impacts on employees, consumers, and the planet, this Fortune 500 company continues to accelerate its efforts to contribute to global health and well-being. With growth comes change to purpose and brand. We created a new name for the department with a recognizable wordmark and templates to ensure globally consistent monthly and actionable safety communications across internal multi-channel platforms. We successfully connected employees to strategic purpose, raising awareness of health, safety, and environmental care to change behaviour. Annual global safety campaigns celebrated employee-centric stories, empowering personal and collective behaviour change and education through peer-to peer communications. The new purpose statement has been put into practice, serving as a rallying cry for employees worldwide to show how much they care for themselves, each other, and the planet.

3. Short Film: Celebrating 30 Years: An Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability track record to be proud of

This Fortune 500 company commissioned HGC to create a short documentary film that highlighted the company’s 30-year history of leading change and pushing the boundaries of environment, health, safety, and sustainability. The film featured executives past and present and employees who have contributed to the company’s exemplary track record. We put a spotlight on the environmental and social impacts throughout the value chain that drive sustainability. Its purpose was to educate employees on the company’s commitment while empowering them to drive social impact and sustainability across the business and in their communities.

Deliverables: Research, strategic planning, documentary film framework to guide script writing, art direction, storyboarding, zoom interviews with past and present company executives, film editing, music selections, graphic overlays; employee presentations; print/digital support materials.
